Unattended Children Policy

The Lyons Public Library welcomes all children and hopes that the services and materials we provide will enrich their experience. The safety and well being of ALL children while they are visiting the Library is very important to us. While keeping this in mind, please understand that we are unable to provide childcare for them. The following rules have been adopted by the library to keep ALL children safe and happy and to reduce any opportunity for injury during their visit.

All children under 10 (ten) years of age must have a responsible individual 12 (twelve) years of age or older remain with them during the visit. This is in compliance with Oregon Revised Statute 163.545.

Children left unattended on the premises without a caregiver will be placed in the custody of the Linn County Sheriff’s Department for their safety and well being.
